About The Norwegian Energy Week 2020

The Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Houston, Innovation Norway and Norwegian Energy Partners have the pleasure of welcoming you to a week of exploring challenges and opportunities in collaborating for a sustainable energy future.  

We are pleased to invite you to an informative and dynamic conference featuring decision makers, energy leaders and top analysts, sharing their perspectives on future energy scenarios and presenting solutions for a decarbonized energy economy. We will also learn how innovation and digitalization are key to continued collaboration between Norway and the US, including opportunities in CCS and Offshore Wind.

World leaders in Aerospace, Medicine & Energy – Innovating for the Benefit of All, for a celebration of the exciting innovations and cross-industry collaboration that happen when you “explore your neighbor’s toolkit”. 

We will hear from Houston, its sister city Stavanger, and the UK, how technological innovations in one sector influences innovation in other sectors, combining to create world class ecosystems for growth.

The Norwegian Energy Week 2020

Norwegian minister of Petroleum and Energy will officially open Norwegian Energy Week, outlining priorities in the area of energy and decarbonization. (tbc)

The Mayor of Houston and energy experts from Greater Houston Partnership will share the vision for Houston as the future global innovation center for sustainable energy solutions. Rystad Energy will present future energy scenaria, and DnB, Equinor, Aker BP and others will share investor and industry perspectives.

Solutions for Reduced Carbon Emissions and New Energy Solutions

Norway’s new ambassador to the US will introduce this session featuring global research- and industry leaders, who will present new solutions for decarbonizing the energy industry.

We will hear from Microsoft about their newly entered into partnership with Equinor on the world’s most comprehensive CCS project, ‘Northern Light’, and companies presenting cutting edge technologies. We will hear from Equinor and Kongsberg Maritime, each taking a lead in as providers of innovative solutions to drive down CO2 emissions on the Norwegian Continental Shelf by realizing offshore wind in Norway at a large scale.

Showcase Norway’s capabilities within Digitalization.

To showcase Norway’s capabilities within Digitalization, Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP) has invited specialists, decision makers and stake holders from the operating oil and gas companies in Brazil, Mexico, U.S., Canada and the UK to attend this webinar, where these technologies and novel approaches will be presented by invited NORWEP Partners.

The Way Forward - Digitalization and Innovation as Catalysts for the Energy Transion

We are wrapping up Norwegian Energy Week with a view into the crystal ball. 

DNV GL will present emerging opportunities for the industry. We will get insight into how innovation, digitalization, AI and machine learning will excel the energy transition(s). Norwegian companies Kongsberg Digital and Cognite, will present cases on how they, in close collaboration with the energy industry, develop AI tools for smarter and greener energy solutions. We will hear from the city of Houston and the director of Ion how Houston will take lead in the energy transition by developing a world leading innovation ecosystem for a sustainable global energy industry.
